Bug description
Dear Linux Mint Development Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to report an issue that I have encountered after the latest update of Linux Mint. The problem occurs in the following scenarios:
When I try to enter my password in the Update Manager, the system freezes and Cinnamon crashes, forcing it to restart.
When I accidentally have my keyboard set to Persian (Farsi) while using the Start Menu, the system also freezes, leading to a Cinnamon restart.
System Information:
Operating System: Linux Mint (latest update applied)
Desktop Environment: Cinnamon
RAM: 32GB
Swap Size: 2GB
Issue Occurred After Update: Yes
These issues were not present before the latest update, and they significantly impact the usability of the system. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and let me know if there are any possible fixes or workarounds.
Please let me know if you require any logs or additional details to diagnose the issue further.
Thank you for your time and support.
Best regards,wats kenent
Steps to reproduce
Issue 1: Freezing When Entering Password in Update Manager
Open the Update Manager.
Click on "Refresh" or attempt to install updates.
When prompted, enter the password.
The system freezes, and Cinnamon restarts.
Issue 2: Freezing When Using Persian Keyboard in Start Menu
Set the keyboard layout to Persian (Farsi).
Open the Start Menu.
Begin typing in Persian.
The system freezes, and Cinnamon restarts.
Expected behavior
The Update Manager should allow the password to be entered without causing the system to freeze or Cinnamon to restart.
The Start Menu should function normally regardless of the selected keyboard layout.
The system should remain stable and responsive without unexpected crashes.

Research direction
No source files or tests are identified. Start by reproducing the Update Manager password freeze and the Start Menu freeze with the Persian keyboard separately, then gather Cinnamon crash and system logs for each case. Done means the failure is isolated and both reported scenarios are verified as stable.
