Description

Distribution

Mint 22

Package version

6.2.9

Graphics hardware in use

Intel UHD Graphics 620 driver: i915 v: kernel

Frequency

Only occasionally

Bug description

Normally, if I use +Mouse Scroll, I can zoom in and look at any part of the screen.

However, occasionally, I can't move to zoomed view to the right side of the screen: the behaviour is as if the right third or quarter of the screen doesn't exist, while zoomed.

Steps to reproduce

I'm not sure how to reproduce it. Might have something to do with connecting and disconnecting a second screen, but I'm not sure.

Expected behavior

I should be able to zoom into any part of the screen, including the right side.

Additional information

I've just determined that running "cinnamon --replace" manages to (temporarily) solve the issue.

Research direction

Start by investigating Cinnamon's screen-zoom behavior around display connection and disconnection; the report identifies Alt+Mouse Scroll and cinnamon --replace as useful entry points. Reproduce the issue if possible, then verify that zoom can reach the right side of the screen after display changes without requiring Cinnamon to be restarted.
