Bug description

Post upgrade to LM 22.1, the applet loading times have increased quite a bit. The issue seems to be restricted to Mint-Y theme. I have tried the new cinnamon and Mint-X theme, and the applets load quickly. Please note the menu animation has been enabled.

Steps to reproduce
  1. Upgrade to LM 22.1 (may happen with a fresh install too?)
  2. Enable Effects on menus
  3. Enable a Mint-Y theme
  4. Try opening these applets Cinnamenu, Calendar or Notifications
Expected behavior

Applets when using Mint-Y theme must load quick with or without the menu effects enabled

Research direction

Start by reproducing the reported steps on Mint 22.1 with package version 6.4.6, Intel TigerLake-LP graphics, menu effects enabled, and the Mint-Y theme. Compare Cinnamenu, Calendar, and Notifications against Mint-X or Cinnamon themes; done means those applets load quickly with and without menu effects.
