Issue

After updating from Cinnamon 5.4.9 to 5.4.10, the animation for window menus (File, Edit, View, etc. at the top of windows) no longer works. The menu just immediately pops open. I was actually going to write in about 5.4.9 as well, because the animation had changed after upgrading (reinstall) from LM 20.3 to 21, from a smooth expand-down style animation to a grow-from-center style animation, which doesn't work as well visually. I'd like to see the animation that existed in Linux Mint 20.3 returned to the menu, if possible.

Steps to reproduce

Open a menu and see the menu just pop open instead of animate.

Expected behaviour

An expand-down style animation

Research direction

No source file or test is identified. Reproduce the menu behavior on Cinnamon 5.4.10 with Linux Mint 21 and compare it with 5.4.9; done means restoring the expected expand-down animation for window menus.
