Description
Hello dev team,
Running mint 20.3 cinnamon
I came across an issue I am having with the favorites applet on the taskbar.
From here I am able to run files/programs that use another program to execute (example pictures, jar files ect...)
However, I am not able to start appimages from this applet. I am able to run them when I opened my favorites in the file explorer.
I don't know if this is done by design or that this feature hasn't been implemented yet.

Kind regards,
Tom

Research direction
Start by reproducing the failure with an AppImage launched from the Cinnamon favorites applet, then inspect the favorites applet entry point and compare it with launching the same file from the file explorer. Done means AppImages launch from the applet consistently while existing favorites behavior remains intact; no test file is named in the issue.
