Description
If utk is used on images repeatedly, due to alignment requirements we may continually generate more and more pad files. We need a way to remove pad files, but this may also fail on images that don't set the alignment bits correctly.

Research direction
Start by tracing how utk creates alignment pad files when processing images repeatedly, including how it determines alignment bits. Define the removal behavior and verify it also handles images with incorrect alignment metadata without deleting valid files.
