Description

A password input should have an underlying string as usual, but should visually render a `•` (we could also make the character configurable).

Research direction

The issue does not name files, tests, or an entry point. Start by tracing how editor input text is represented and rendered, then identify where a password mode could preserve the underlying string while changing displayed characters; done means password input renders bullets without changing its stored text and any configurability is resolved.
