Paper Mario crashes / freezes in intro cutscene and beginning of the game on Android

On android, there seems to be 2 places where Paper Mario will soft lock during cutscenes:

The first is right before Kammy casts a spell during this part of the intro: https://youtu.be/6wQzSVIwYZI?t=79

If I skip the intro before it soft locks, the second soft lock is right after Luigi opens the door here: https://youtu.be/6wQzSVIwYZI?t=155

When the game soft locks, the background music continues to play to completion, but the graphics remain frozen, and I can't press any buttons to skip the cutscene. There are occasions where retroarch crashes instead of freezing during these scenes, but that rarely happens. This issue only seems to happen on my Android phone, on both the aarch64 build and the 32-bit build. My Linux laptop doesn't seem to have this problem with Paper Mario.

Is there some way I can share a log file or provide you with more info?

Reproduce the two Paper Mario soft locks in the linked intro-cutscene videos on Android, testing both the aarch64 and 32-bit builds and comparing with Linux. Capture any available logs and determine whether the graphics freeze or RetroArch crashes. Done means both cutscenes proceed normally without freezing or crashing on Android.
