Description
I'm running Linux (5.5, 5.6, 5.7), Ubuntu and Manjaro, RetroArch 1.8.8 and Vulkan, CPU i7-8550U and GPU MX150 using nvidia 440-82 drivers. I'm aware Indiana Jones is one of the toughest games to emulate properly on the N64, what has been achieved already is remarkable, so my congrats to Themaister and everyone else involved.
Most likely you are aware of this, but I'd like to mention just in case:
-
The title screen takes a toll on performance, FPS drop and sound stutter on my system. Fastforwarding doesn't make any difference, seems like the system is struggling which is surprising for a (in appeareance) static screen with background music only.
-
If you let the title screen pass, there is some in game sequence, but it gets frozen/halted at the beginning of the Tibetan temple scene (image attached). This issue seems related to the dynamic_recompiler. Using cached_interpreter it goes well all the way (although it's too slow for me to be playable).

Research direction
Reproduce the report on Linux with RetroArch 1.8.8 and Vulkan, first observing the title-screen slowdown and then the Tibetan temple freeze with dynamic_recompiler. Compare the same sequence with cached_interpreter; done means the scene no longer halts and title-screen performance and audio stutter are improved without relying on the slower fallback.
