Description
When the Start "function" is assigned to the Start physical button that button works only on title screen, not afterward during game (i.e. it doesn't open the game menu), .
When the Start "function" is assigned to any other physical button or any keyboard key (Return key by default) it works (i.e. that button/key opens the game menu).
When the A or B "functions" are assigned to the Start physical button, Mario jumps or uses his hammer, as intended.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the Paper Mario input mapping with Start assigned to the physical Start button, then compare it with a keyboard key or another physical button. Done means the physical Start button opens the in-game menu after leaving the title screen without breaking A or B mappings.
