Description
I've encountered a few graphical issues and strange lock-ups while using the Angrylion plugin, most of which happen to involve late-era Rare games. This is on the latest mupen64plus core from the buildbot. These problems do not happen using Glide64. I will be adding onto this as I test more games should I encounter more problems:

Conker's textures turn completely black, depending on how far he is away from the camera. No other NPC appears to be affected.

Icons on the side menus when at Prof. Oak's lab or when viewing albums are glitched. I've reported this before, but I wanted to report it again since there have been some changes to the core since then.
Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Perfect Dark all experience some weird softlock at some point during or after their initial intros. Banjo-Kazooie locks up right after the intro with the N64 logo and the flying bug fades to white. Banjo-Tooie only shows the following before locking up, though the intro music keeps playing regardless, with no way to proceed.

Donkey Kong 64 locks up into a black screen right as the DK rap starts playing, though like Banjo-Tooie, the rap itself keeps playing until it ends. Again, no way to skip it and proceed. Lastly, Perfect Dark locks up right after the 3D Rare logo appears and fades out. Like the previous two titles, the track playing at this time keeps playing until it ends.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the reported Angrylion problems in Conker's Bad Fur Day, Pokémon, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Perfect Dark, comparing them with Glide64. Separate the texture, menu-icon, and introductory lock-up symptoms, then verify that each affected sequence renders correctly and remains playable without a softlock.
