Description

I have a Samsung Z fold 3 running Android, nice square tablet when opened.

My frustration with Retroarch (PUAE but also Caprice FOR Amstrad) is that these cores have nice virtual keyboards, but they always overlap the emulated screen.

Is there a way to adjust the virtual keyboard position, especially to move it below the emulated computer screen, even at the expense of a reduction of this screen size?

In most games you just need the keyboard once in a while, so overlapping the screen with transparency is OK. But I am a big fan of flight simulators, especially Interceptor, and this makes heavy usage of the keyboard, if you can't see the screen properly while typing that's not comfortable... Let alone if you want to program in GFA Basic! 😊

Research direction

No file or test is named. Start by determining whether virtual-keyboard layout is controlled by this PUAE core or by the Android/RetroArch frontend, using the PUAE and Caprice examples in the report. Done would mean a documented or implemented way to place the keyboard below the emulated screen without obscuring it.
