Description
Previously it was possible to swap disks by going to Disk Control -> Load New Disk and selecting. Now a message is displayed saying failed to append disk and the current disk remains.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the failure through Disk Control → Load New Disk, noting the exact conditions that produce the “failed to append disk” message. Trace the disk-loading path from that control and compare it with the previous swap behavior. Done means selecting a new disk replaces the current disk without the error.
