Description

App update messed up controls. Got them fixed but save states for some cores like NES no longer load and say "fail to load" if I tried to load them.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the regression on RetroArch 1.22.2 using the Ayn Thor platform, checking both controls and save-state loading with the affected NES-like cores. Gather the missing core details and relevant logs, then compare behavior with a nightly version; done means the regression is isolated and controls and save states work again.
