Research direction
Reproduce the crash on Windows 10 using the listed Vulkan, windowed-mode, fast-forward steps with the Nestopia or Mesen core. Start by tracing the Vulkan frontend path involved when fast-forward is activated in a non-fullscreen window, and capture relevant logs; done means fast-forward no longer crashes RetroArch in this configuration.
