Research direction
Start by tracing RetroArch's rewind handling and the azahar core's save-state support. Reproduce the reported GNU/Linux case with rewind enabled, then determine the serialized savestate work required across the frontend and core. Done means rewind no longer reports that serialized save state support is unavailable.
