Description

Using USB Audio Interface RME Fireface 802

Issue is the same whether I choose WASAPI or DSound.

11 stereo pairs are listed for selection. Sound outputs to 10 of the 11. The stereo pair ch15/ch16 does not receive sound when selected. All other channels work fine.

The problematic pair works with other Windows applications. The pair is also listed at the bottom of the list on the device selection in RA.

The problem started suddenly and persists across fresh builds.

Expected behavior

Select stereo pair under devices and get sound output from RA

Steps to reproduce the bug
  1. Use RME Fireface 802 on Windows 11 64 bit OS
  2. Launch Retroarch
  3. Select any other pair and monitor sound, select ch15/ch16 and get no sound

Note: this config was working for me for many years, then suddenly stopped working, so might be difficult to reproduce. Also not sure if the fact that the problematic pair shows up at the bottom of the list is related.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue on Windows 11 with the RME Fireface 802, testing both WASAPI and DSound and comparing the working stereo pairs with ch15/ch16. Trace the audio device-selection path for the pair listed last; done means ch15/ch16 produces sound in RetroArch without breaking the other channels.
