Description
When trying to do a video recording of a Nintendo 64 game using the Angrylion plugin while GPU Recording set to "off" (which should record footage at its internal resolution) instead will record the remaining blank space into a 640x480 image
GPU Recording obviously doesn't exhibits this issue
Expected behavior
I was actually able to record perfectly fine in previous versions of the same core with the same plugin with the same settings back in July 2025, with the only inconvenient that the aspect ratio would always force itself to 240p even when the actual resolution was bellow that (animated PNG)
Steps to reproduce the bug
- Load Mupen64Plus-Next core
- Set RDP Plugin to "Angrylion"
- Settings > Recording > Use GPU Recording > "Off"
- Quick Recording > Start Recording

Research direction
Reproduce this on RetroArch 1.22.2 using the Mupen64Plus-Next core with the Angrylion RDP plugin and GPU Recording off, following the listed recording steps. Compare the output with GPU Recording on and with the earlier July 2025 behavior; done means the recording contains the game image at its internal resolution without the surrounding blank space.
