Description

I'm requesting a feature to duplicate an existing core with separate config folders. But the same everything else.

Why? Because, this way, I won't have to use separate cores when I need to load the same content in different ways across two separate playlists.

Right now, if I want to have two playlists: Super Game Boy + Game Boy, with the same roms, but different core options & shaders, I need two different cores, one for each playlist.

But if I can duplicate SameBoy / SameBoy_copy, that way I won't need a different core for each playlist, nor to duplicate my entire romset.

Of course, the copy should also update normally alongside the original via the online updater.

Research direction

Start by tracing how cores, config folders, playlists, shaders, and the online updater are handled. The feature would be complete when an existing core can be duplicated with separate configuration while sharing the same content and continuing to receive normal updater changes.
