Description
Should be good to have the ability to detect a PSP Homebrew and add it to the list of detected games (playlist). Also, when it come in a image format. Please see how generate an image for a PSP Homebrew game in this link:
https://retroachievements.org/forums/topic/14341
Tools needed to generate an image:

Example of PSP Homebrew game:

Launching the game directly from EBOOT.PBP or the generated image works, but it's inconvenient to have to search for the game in the directories every time you want to launch it or having to manually create an entry in the game list. If it were automatically added to the list of available games, it would be much easier to use.

Research direction
No source file, test, or entry point is identified in the issue. Start by tracing how RetroArch detects games and builds playlists, then compare handling of EBOOT.PBP and generated image formats. Done means supported PSP Homebrew games are detected and added to the available game list without manual entries.
