Description
Is there an existing issue for this?
- This is a bug in RetroArch frontend
- I have searched the existing issues
Description
When I launch the game, Retroarch minimizes to the taskbar, and then the game starts.
Unfortunately, the Windows interface UI often opens at this point, obscuring Retroarch. This happens because the Xbox Series Controller also allows you to control the Windows interface.
Expected behavior
Disable the ability to control the Windows UI with controler when Retroarch is running.
Steps to reproduce the bug
- Run any game on playlist (xmb menu)
- While Retroarch is loading the game, use the analog sticks on your controller to bring up the Windows UI.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the launch sequence on Windows 11 with an Xbox Series Controller, using the XMB playlist steps in the report. Trace the frontend's game-launch and controller-input handling during that transition. Done means the Windows UI no longer responds to controller input while RetroArch is launching or running the game.
