Description

Is there an existing issue for this?
  • This is a bug in RetroArch frontend
  • I have searched the existing issues
Description

Such as pokemon ultra moon, save location is Steam\steamapps\common\RetroArch\saves\Citra\Citra\sdmc\Nintendo 3DS\00000000000000000000000000000000\00000000000000000000000000000000\title\00040000\001b5100\data\00000001\main.

I checked Steam\userdata\<My Steam ID>\1118310\remotecache.vdf and found that the save were indeed not synchronized.

Citra's synchronized files:

  • Steam\steamapps\common\RetroArch\saves\Citra\Citra\shaders\opengl\precompiled\separable\000400000000.bin
  • Steam\steamapps\common\RetroArch\saves\Citra\Citra\shaders\opengl\transferable\000400000000.bin

Is there any way to solve it?

Expected behavior

Synchronized Steam\steamapps\common\RetroArch\saves\Citra\Citra\sdmc\*.

Steps to reproduce the bug
  1. Play 3DS game with Steam RetroArch(Windows11) Citra core
  2. Play 3DS game with SteamDeck(SteamOS = Linux) RetroArch Citra core
  3. Save not synchronized

Present in the nightly version

Yes, this is reproduced in the nightly build

Platform & operating system

Windwos 11

Affected Cores

citra_libretro.dll(Win) or citra_libretro.co(Linux).But I don't think it has anything to do with the core, it should be a problem with the Steam release.

Research direction

Start by comparing the save path under saves\Citra\Citra\sdmc* with the Citra shader files listed as synchronized, then inspect Steam\userdata<My Steam ID>\1118310\remotecache.vdf. The fix is complete when the Citra sdmc save files synchronize between the Windows 11 and SteamOS RetroArch installations.
