Description

It would be very helpful for keyboard oriented cores to have the ability to check if RetroArch is in 'Game Focus Mode' or not. So the user can be informed that they need (for any practical purposes at least) enter 'Game Focus Mode' in order to interact with the emulator.

This would make the user experience so much better for some cores while at the same time have a relatively small impact on API complexity and I imagine that the feature is pretty easy to implement in the frontend as well.

Research direction

Start by tracing where RetroArch stores and updates Game Focus Mode in the frontend, then review the libretro core API boundary. Done means keyboard-oriented cores can query the current focus state and users receive the intended guidance when focus mode is required.
