Description

hello, since the update to RA 1.20 there are some new integer scaling options. these seems to have a suboptimal behavior on systems with resolution switching.

An Example for Beetle PSX - R4 Ridge Racer Type 4

on old RA before the update: when i set integer scaling on, the 240p gameplay scenes are integer scaled with nearly fullscreen on 720p, while menus or hires-games are not integer but displayed fullscreen.

on new RA: when i set integer scaling on, the 240p gameplay scenes are integer scaled with nearly fullscreen on 720p , while menus or hires-games are also integer but have a massive underscan or overscan.

is there a way to make the new version works like the old one?

Research direction

Reproduce the report with Beetle PSX and R4 Ridge Racer Type 4 on a 720p system, comparing integer scaling and resolution switching before and after RetroArch 1.20. Focus on 240p gameplay versus menus or hi-res games. Done means the new version preserves the old behavior without underscan or overscan.
