Ability to add image as glui theme's highlights

While I think RetroArch glui needs refreshments since now goggle encourage app to use material3 desig but the current glui is not that bad. The font need to be changed to Roboto or Goggle Sans of pixel ui I think.
I want to talk about the gl ui colors. From all the glui themes provided, only two that I find interesting. Cutie Cyan & Gray dark. I love the gray dark. It's giving modern ui vibes. But it's too dark even the highlights is just gray. It almost doesn't look appealing to me. I wonder if you can add option to "add imagine as highlight" as opposed to "add image as background that's already there. I personally like the current google play store blue accent. Please make this come true.

Start by locating RetroArch's glui theme implementation and its existing background-image handling, then compare the requested highlight-image option with the attached mock-up; done should mean the desired behavior and supported theme configuration are clearly defined.
