Description

Flycast core works wonderfully on the Retroarch Kaillera netplay fork. Unfortunately , when in an online game, the analog stick is completely disabled. And if you press L or R triggers, it will affect the analog stick. D-pad and face buttons work just fine on netplay. When offline, everything functions as it should. The problem only happens when playing online. This issue also happens on the official Retroarch if you try to host on the official built in netplay (even though official RA netplay for flycast doesn't work, you can still host and play 1p and the same input issues happen) We think this has something to do with when Retroarch is in its "online" state. When using the kaillera fork, the Retroarch basically goes into its "online" state when kaillera is loaded. (chat is the same etc)

Here is a quick video of the issue.

I would post this to the Retroarch Kaillera fork github but I cannot find it. Sorry if I am in the wrong place. But the others I have spoken to seem to think this is a general Retroarch issue for this core.

Expected behavior

Controls should act the same in an online game as they do offline

Actual behavior

Analog stick is completely disabled/gone but pressing the L and R triggers will also affect the analog stick (see video)

Steps to reproduce the bug

Load a game on kaillera netplay.

Bisect Results

It has always been this way, even before the kaillera fork existed. When RA is in "online" mode, this issue happens.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue with a game loaded through Kaillera netplay on Windows 11, then inspect how RetroArch's online state handles input for the flycast core. Compare online and offline control behavior; done means the analog stick works and L/R triggers no longer affect it during online play.
