Description

Before anything

Issue #16266 should be looked at before proceeding with this suggestion since that is one of the reasons this new animation would be in part useless without it being addressed.

Reasoning

Right now the UI doesn't give any feedback that you can actually touch hold something. Adding this little animation, it makes it clear that it actually does something.

Showcase

Touch-hold_animation_1

This animation has:

  • 1s of delay;
  • 600ms of fade in & out;

The timing can be tweaked if necessary of course.

Research direction

Review issue #16266 first, since this suggestion depends on that issue being addressed. Then locate the existing touch-hold interaction and determine how the proposed animation can provide feedback with a one-second delay and 600ms fade-in and fade-out; done means the animation appears for the relevant option with those timings.
