Description
Description
Using Windows 64bit version of latest nightly as of 2/3/2024, but this bug has happened in previous versions as well.
I have auto save/load state on in Retroarch, which works fine in most cores. However, I've noticed with the Fuse Core for ZX Spectrum that Retroarch hangs at game launch when autoloading the autosave state. Oddly, if I manually load the autosave state that works fine.
Expected behavior
Retroarch would launch the Fuse core, load the game, then load the auto savestate.
Actual behavior
Retroarch hangs
Steps to reproduce the bug
- Set Auto Load and Save savestate on and save the config
- Run a ZX Spectrum game in Fuse, then exit the game so an autosave is created
- Run that same game and see if it runs and correctly loads the savestate, or just hangs
Bisect Results
Not sure, but I recall first noticing it months ago perhaps

Research direction
Reproduce the hang on Windows 10 with the Fuse core, using the listed auto-save and auto-load savestate steps. Compare automatic loading during game launch with manual loading; done means the game launches and the autosave state loads without RetroArch hanging.
