Description
First and foremost consider this:
- Only RetroArch bugs should be filed here. Not core bugs or game bugs
- This is not a forum or a help section, this is strictly developer oriented
Description
The Wii build of Retroarch has options for netplay, but once hitting host Retroarch reboots, after trying to select a core it reports that no cores are available and you cannot load content. I tried pointing to the core .DOL files I had and it still refused to boot any game. The System Info tab reports that Netplay (Peer-to-Peer) Support: Yes.
Expected behavior
Host a netplay game, load the core and then load a game. Game boots and should report the screen res, controller type and it should state that a netplay game is being hosted.
Actual behavior
When booting Retroarch Wii and clicking host game the emulator restarts, from there you cannot progress because it refuses to detect all core .DOL files and any games you have. Netplay doesn't work.
Steps to reproduce the bug
- Boot Retroarch Wii. Go into Load Core > pick the FB Alpha 2012 CPS2 Core > Then Load Content and Pick a CPS2 game and once again select the FB Alpha 2012 CPS2 core. The game will boot.
- Press the Home button, hit 1 on the Wii mote or B on classic controller, go to Netplay > Host > Start Netplay Host. Retroarch will flash and then reboot completely
- Try to Load Content again and select a CPS2 game and Load Archive. Suggested Core will report that there are No Cores Available.
Bisect Results
Netplay appeared on the latest Wii Build of Retroarch however it doesn't work.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the Wii build failure with the listed FB Alpha 2012 CPS2 core and the Netplay > Host > Start Netplay Host steps. Trace the transition from starting a netplay host through the reboot and subsequent core discovery failure; done means the host starts without rebooting and cores and content remain loadable.
