Description

Parts of the Online Updater are managed by the software installers or package managers. To simplify the user experience, would be great to be able to disable parts of the Online Updater that are managed by the package manager, but keep those are not.

Have a config options to selectively toggle which parts of the Online Updater are enabled?

Research direction

Start by locating the Online Updater implementation and its configuration handling; the issue does not name specific files or tests. Determine which updater parts are controlled by package managers, then define how each part can be selectively enabled or disabled while leaving unmanaged parts available.
