Description
Description
I'm using RetroArch on my Ayaneo Geek and when I connect a second xinput gamepad the internal and the second gamepad are recognized and work just fine. But when I disable the internal gamepad RetroArch reports that the second gamepad is now on input 1 but no input is getting through from the second gamepad on input 1. I tried manually setting the gamepad profile for the second gamepad on input 1 and 2, also tried switching input drivers but no matter what i tried the issue still was the same.
Expected behavior
When I disable the internal (formerly Input 1) gamepad, the second gamepad should be recognized as input 1 and inputs should be recognized from that gamepad in games.
Actual behavior
When I disable the internal (formerly input 1) gamepad, the second gamepad is seemingly recognized (message in the bottom left corner that controller profile for input 1 has been set to it), but i can neither control the game, nor the menu ok RetroArch.
Steps to reproduce the bug
- Start RetroArch (or a game) with internal gamepad and a second x input gamepad connected
- Disable/disconnect first gamepad
- Try to input controls with second gamepad which should now be gamepad input 1
Bisect Results
It started happening right when I first used RetroArch with the 2 gamepad setup

Research direction
Reproduce the issue on RetroArch 1.14.0 on Windows 11 with an Ayaneo Geek: connect a second XInput gamepad, disable the internal gamepad, and test input 1 in the menu and a game. Trace the controller-input handling for device removal and reassignment; done means the remaining gamepad provides input after becoming input 1.
