Description
I have a X-Arcade Tankstick w. the Trackball.

I also have a 8BitDo Pro2 Controller, and a 8BitDo SN30 Pro+, which are both basically perceived as XBOX Wireless controllers....

Why can't RetroArch recognise what controller it is?
Anyway. I have set up my X-Arcade as the main P1 & P2 controllers at Controller Port 1 & 2 in the RetroArch global input settings... or... That was what I was going to do, and then have my two wireless controllers as Controller Port 3 & 4, then go into the cores while playing a game, and change the Controller Mapping from 1 to 3 and 2 to 4, based on the system I would play.... That's not really how it works; is it? The mapping is instead trying to take the layout of Controller 3 and use that on the Controller 1, which renders both controllers useless.
Is it possible that I have encountered a bug, or is it not? and if it's not a bug, could I suggest a controller swap option to the cores? It would be really nice to have core specific controllers for the few systems that I actually need a normal controller too. I can play basically any earlier system with the tankstick, I need a controller for the 'newer' systems only.
Yes I know that I can just go into the global input and switch between the controllers, but I want seemless gaming, I have been setting up my 'arcade' system for about 3 days now, and have just started testing out the controllers and some of the systems more then just adding and finding gamelist files, creating .m3u files for some of the games etc. When I start RA, I just want to get into the game, without having to touch the settings again.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the setup with the X-Arcade Tankstick and the two 8BitDo controllers, using RetroArch global input settings and core controller mapping. Determine whether core mapping swaps layouts rather than controller assignments, then define and verify a seamless core-specific controller swap without recurring manual global-input changes.
