Description

Device: Google Pixel 7, Tensor G2 (Mali G710 MP07), Android 13

Encountered with both stable (1.12.0-Android-64 bit) and nightly (22-10-27-aarch64)

The app launches with a short flash of the UI, but turns into black screen. Retroarch is still running with sound and controls fully working. Video would show normally after locking the phone and turning it back on.

This does not reflect in screen recordings. Video shows up just fine.

The bug doesn't happen at every launch of Retroarch, but happens both when launched directly and from command line.

Research direction

No file or test is named. Start by reproducing the intermittent black screen on a Google Pixel 7 running Android 13, comparing direct and command-line launches and the lock/unlock behavior. Done means the app's video displays normally after launch rather than only after the phone is locked and unlocked.
