Unfortunately the RetroArch UI since the older days up until now, has an annoying bug to not displaying PC Engine Games Cover art.
No matter how i do. Changed cover art to different size and format, it still not showing anything in the playlist.
Normally i just add a .PNG images to the RetroArch folders containing the images with name corresponding to the game name in the playlist.
Please check this issue.
This is been happened for a very long time.

No file, test, version, operating system, or commit is identified. Start by reproducing the missing PC Engine playlist cover with the stated PNG naming and format setup, then trace the playlist cover-loading path; done means the matching cover appears reliably in the playlist.
