Description
I was wondering if there was a nice way to programmatically interact with Retroarch? Thinks like controller input, load, save. If not I was thinking I could modify Retroarch to do so.

Research direction
Start by surveying RetroArch's existing interfaces for controller input, loading, and saving, then determine whether programmatic interaction is already supported. Define the intended external interface and its supported operations before deciding whether changes to RetroArch are needed; completion would require a concrete, documented way to perform those interactions.
