Description
Description
When both the dpad and left joystick (xbox one/series controllers) are mapped to the n64 analog stick the dpad seems to randomly start and stop working.
Expected behavior
Pressing a direction on the dpad or joystick always works
Actual behavior
Sometimes it doesn't (sometimes only up/down work, sometimes only left/right) moving the joystick seems to change things but it's unclear
Steps to reproduce the bug
- Open up an n64 game where the menu nav is joystick based (zelda file select/name entry works)
- Set both joystick and dpad to be the analog stick
- Try entering your name
- The analog stick works perfectly but the dpad doesn't
Version/Commit
- RetroArch: 1.10 stable
Environment information
- OS: has happened both on windows 10 and Debian sid

Research direction
Reproduce this in an N64 game with joystick-based menu navigation, such as Zelda file select or name entry, using RetroArch 1.10 on a Windows 10 or Debian sid setup. Map both the Xbox One/Series joystick and dpad to the N64 analog stick, then compare directional input while entering a name. Done means dpad and joystick directions work consistently together without one axis stopping.
