Description
First and foremost consider this:
- Only RetroArch bugs should be filed here. Not core bugs or game bugs
- This is not a forum or a help section, this is strictly developer oriented
Description
This is a mockup to make the the Main menu of RetroArch to look appealing and easy to understand to users. The enclosed pdf will show the designs and what each element of the menu aims to accomplish. This menu does not change any functionality of RetroArch, rather it serves as a medium to direct the users to pre existing menus.
There are some changes to the menus to accommodate what the average user will need on a daily basis.
Show Desktop Menu, Configuration Files, and Information are in the settings menu, as users will not be accessing these options on a regular basis. Similarly, Input is on the main menu, and NetPlay is now grouped in the main menu as well.
The focus of the menu is now on games and playlists rather than cores. While the purpose of RetroArch is properly utilizing cores, the users see cores as a means to an end, so I have displayed the games foremost rather than the cores.
The mockups also include options for profiles and game suspension. While true game suspension may not be plausible, a way to 'fake' it is to save the game state before quitting such that the state, and therefore the game, is ready to play again even after exiting and reentering RetroArch
I hope this Menu is suitable, and if you have questions or suggestions for me, please message my Discord, Sakethray#3468, and if you DM me, please specify you are talking about RetroArch.
Thank you.

Research direction
Start by reading RetroUI.pdf and comparing its proposed main menu, settings, input, NetPlay, profiles, playlists, and suspension flows with the current RetroArch menus. No source files or tests are named; completion would require an agreed implementation scope and a working UI matching the approved mockup.
