Description
I’m having trouble with RetroArch crashing on my old mid-2009 MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.11.6.
It happens whenever I try to load a SNES ROM. It was able to load these ROMS without trouble up until recently — I’m not sure what changed. I remain able to load NES and GBA ROMs without trouble.
I’ve tried using a variety of SNES cores and they all crash when I try loading a ROM. I am able to load a core first without trouble, but it’ll crash when I try loading a ROM.
I had this happen once before. I deleted everything and reinstalled RetroArch and it cleared up the problem. I’ve tried the same maneuver this time around and the problem persists. (To wipe things clean I tried deleting the RetroArch folder in Application Support – are there other setup files hiding elsewhere?)
I’ve tried “Reset to Defaults” in RetroArch’s Configuration File menu but it doesn’t seem to do anything.
So I’m stumped. Apologies if I’m overlooking something obvious! I’ll include with this post my config file and a log file from it crashing. Any thoughts appreciated!

Research direction
Start by reviewing the attached configuration file and crash log, then reproduce the failure on macOS 10.11.6 while loading a SNES ROM through multiple cores. Compare this with the reported successful NES and GBA loading paths. Done means identifying the cause of the SNES loading crash and confirming that SNES ROMs load without breaking the working cases.
