Description

RetroPie 4.7.1 (I did update my packages as well)
Raspberry Pi 4 B

Gamepads: 8Bitdo Arcade Stick
8Bitdo SN30 Pro

I'm noticing some sort of latency issue with my gamepads, its noticeable on fighting games. If you pull up a fighting game with controller input data on display it helps. I used both 8bitdo gamepads one wired and the other with the 2.4 ghz dongle. I was seeing that my 3 button input when pressed at the same time were not always executing at the same time when needed to. Sometimes it happens with just a 2 button command pressed at the same time. When it comes to fighting games it needs to be on point. The gamepads do get detected as Xbox 360 gamepads. The system I used was Neo Geo arcade and Dreamcast so far.

Research direction

No source file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reproducing the reported simultaneous-input latency on a Raspberry Pi 4 B with the wired and 2.4 GHz 8Bitdo controllers, using Neo Geo or Dreamcast and an input display. Done means isolating whether RetroArch causes the timing discrepancy and recording a verified result or fix.
