Description

Description

Discovered when testing AI service on my phone, in landscape orientation the translations display correctly over their respective translated text. When rotating the phone to portrait, such as you would for a non-overlapping touchscreen control overlay, the tranaslation is stretched vertically across the screen, far away from the translated text.

Expected behavior

Translations should continue to line up with the source text, as seen in landscape:

Actual behavior

Portrait screenshot with stretched translation

Steps to reproduce the bug
  1. Load any game that fits on the top end of a portrait-oriented screen (wonderswan in this case).
  2. Trigger the AI service on any translatable text.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue on Android 9 with a portrait-oriented display, using a Wonderswan game and the AI service on translatable text. Compare the overlay placement in landscape and portrait; the work is done when translations remain aligned with their source text after rotation.
