Description
Retroarch crashes when it is active in background. I have tried giving to permission to run in background and removing battery optimizing for this app, but that does not help. Similar problem was posted here but the app link which was posted as solution is no longer working (file size is 0 kb).
Expected behavior
Game should be paused on background until the app is resumed.
Actual behavior
Retroarch crashes.
Steps to reproduce the bug
Open Retroarch for android
Load a core
Load a game
Minimize the app, open some other app
When returning to the app, it crashes
Bisect Results
Started imediately after installing on Play Store.
I am using Retroarch 64 1.9.0_GIT (android) which was the latest version on playstore.
It is running on Android 10, realme UI, RMX1931EX_11_C.33

No source file or test is identified in the issue. First reproduce the crash using Android 10 by loading a core and game, minimizing RetroArch, then returning to it; done means the game remains paused without a crash and resumes when the app returns.
