Description

Retroarch 1.90 Linux PC
Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon
cinnamon version 4.6.7
Kernel Version: 5.4.0-52 Generic
AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics × 4

Running Mupen64-plus with its default settings results in slow and choppy performance on my PC, same when running the core on Lakka os with a raspberry pi 4b.

Raspberry Pi Model 4 B,
Lakka OS
When running both of those cores on a Raspberry pi 4 model B, both cores act poorly even with default settings with the parallel core crashing whenever it is launched. Lakka OS 2.3.2 stable and its nightly releases have not fixed the problem as of yet.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the report in RetroArch 1.90 with the Mupen64-plus and parallel cores using their default settings on the listed Linux PC and Raspberry Pi 4/Lakka environments. Compare the choppy or slow performance and the parallel-core crash across those environments; the issue is done when the affected cores perform normally and the crash is resolved.
