Research direction

Start by reproducing the listed failures in version 1.9.0, separating the affected cores and behaviors: startup crashes, slow performance, graphical bugs, Wiiflow plugin failures, zipped ROM failures, and controller recognition. The issue names no source files, tests, or entry points, and completion would require resolving or narrowing this broad set of reports.
