Description

These options even mention that they're not going to work often in many emulators if the pause in submenu option is on. As long as the pause state is restored when backing out of the submenu or completing the cd switch (which gets out of the RA menu) i think this could be a welcome feature as a option or as default option to the usability of disc switching for newcomers. Put in a warning in the 'disc control' button that it will temporarily turn off pause if configured to do so and you'd have little to no complaints about disc-switching anymore.

Audio could be a problem too, so if there is a per application volume control, maybe it's wise to turn it down and back up when doing this.

Research direction

Start by locating the RetroArch “disc control” submenu and the handling for the “pause in submenu” option. Trace how pause state is restored when leaving the submenu or completing a CD switch, and assess the audio concern raised in the issue. Done would mean a clearly configured or default auto-unpause behavior with pause restored afterward and an appropriate warning.
