First and foremost consider this:
- Only RetroArch bugs should be filed here. Not core bugs or game bugs

Description
I Have retroarch on the wii via Wiiflow 4, as well as several cores related (mame 2003, FBA, CPS1, etc). But any time I run for instance MAme 2003 and then go back to another core say, CPS1 I loss button mapping. I need to delete retroarch.cfg (thi is, go to wii explorer) anytime to recover button mapping with the core that i had issues. Then on, when I try to go back to Mame 2003 after play CPS1, it happens the same.
This behaviour happens with all cores in that sequence.
Can this be fixed?
Expected behavior
I would like the system to hang multiple cores using just one retroarch.cfg
Actual behavior
anytime I load a core it loses wiimote button mapping.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue on the Wii through Wiiflow 4, switching between the mentioned MAME 2003, FBA, and CPS1 cores. Inspect how retroarch.cfg stores and restores Wiimote button mappings across core changes. Done means one retroarch.cfg preserves the mapping when loading each core in sequence.
