Description

Hey! It's been a long time, I hope RetroArch team is doing very well!

RetroArch hangs 1 or 2 seconds if you use games that have audio tracks. I'm using .cue + .bin + .ogg

I didn't test .cue + .bin yet (i.e. without any compression in the audio tracks)

I tested in Genesis Plus GX and Beetle PCE.

Steps to reproduce the bug
  1. Load any .cue + .bin + .ogg game
  2. Play a little and wait to freeze 1 or 2 seconds
  3. Play Sonic CD, wait to hangs in Present/Future; go to the Past, it'll not hangs (PCM music instead audio track)

Research direction

Start by reproducing the hang on Windows 10 with the reported RetroArch 1.8.5 setup, using a .cue + .bin + .ogg game and the Genesis Plus GX or Beetle PCE core. Compare compressed audio tracks with uncompressed audio and the Past/Present/Future sections of Sonic CD; done means identifying and resolving the 1–2 second freezes without breaking CD audio playback.
