Description
I'm not sure if this is feasible.
The renaming feature currently appears to only apply to the current device; I still only see the default name on my Windows PC.
This problem has really bothered me for a long time. I lent my AirPods to a friend, and ever since then, the devices have been labeled "[my friend's name]'s AirPods." Using them always feels like I'm using his stolen devices.

Research direction
The issue does not name any files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the existing renaming feature and checking how the device name is stored and exposed to Windows; done means a rename is reflected globally rather than only on the current device.
