Research direction
Start by reproducing the failure in the Gtk.AlertDialog callback where Gio.AsyncResult is passed to Lua. Trace how LGI handles that callback argument and the reported new() lookup error. Done means the callback receives and can use the AsyncResult without the error; no test or source file is named in the issue.
