Description

Per https://github.com/less/less.js/issues/3211.
Just:

If you need to run less in an older browser, please use an es-5 shim which will add the javascript features that less requires.

would be enough.

Additional selfnote: also restore 2.x branch of the documentation to be able to reference any lost information (even if not important).

Research direction

No file or test is named. Start with the browser-support documentation and the referenced issue 3211, then review the 2.x documentation branch for information that may have been lost. Done means restoring the es-5 shim guidance and any relevant missing browser-support information.
