Lean fails to build with a globally installed mimalloc on MacOS

Prerequisites

• Check that your issue is not already filed:

• Reduce the issue to a minimal, self-contained, reproducible test case.
  Avoid dependencies to Mathlib or Batteries.
• Test your test case against the latest nightly release, for example on
  https://live.lean-lang.org/#project=lean-nightly
  (You can also use the settings there to switch to “Lean nightly”)

Description

Try to build Lean on a macos machine where mimalloc has been installed.

Steps to Reproduce

0. run brew install mimalloc
1. git clone the lean repo
2. run cmake -- preset release
3. run make in build/release

Expected behavior: lean builds

Actual behavior: the build errors out when trying to build mimalloc with undefined symbol error

Lean: git hash a3645951
MacOS 26.4 (25E5207k)

Additional Information

The issue I think is that make passes -I /opt/homebrew/include to the c compiler (it compiles if I remove it by hand from the compiler invocation)

Reproduce the failure in the Lean repository using brew install mimalloc, cmake --preset release, and make in build/release. Inspect the generated compiler invocation and the release CMake configuration, especially how /opt/homebrew/include reaches the mimalloc build; done means Lean builds successfully on macOS with a globally installed mimalloc.
